A type of volcanic clay, bentonite has long been a source of natural treatment and cleaning for various cultures. The name comes from Fort Benton, Montana where it can be found in abundance. It can be applied topically on skin or taken as a drink, and there is some -although limited- scientific research on it. It can cleanse the skin surface, and absorb sebum, and temporarily lessen the appearance of pores. Also contains magnesium, calcium and iron.
