As a beauty editor of many years, I’ve probably tried more sunscreens than I can count. Mineral, chemical, hybrid, tinted… you name it. I believe SPF should be a non-negotiable part of everyone’s morning skincare routine, so I’ve been on a mission to find the perfect one. Over time, I realized I’m definitely Team Mineral SPF—but that made my search a bit trickier. Mineral sunscreens are notorious for feeling heavier on the skin, leaving a white cast, and sometimes causing breakouts, especially for certain skin types. Thankfully, as technology evolved, mineral formulations became more lightweight—a game changer for people like me. After years of trial and error, I finally found my forever, everyday sunscreen: Cocokind’s Daily SPF.
Cocokind is one of my all-time favorite skincare brands. They’ve launched instant bestsellers like their cleanser, serums, and eye creams, and I appreciate how transparent they are about product information. Each product box features formula facts on one side and sustainability facts on the other—a thoughtful touch for conscious consumers. Daily SPF is one of their top products, and for good reason. It contains a hefty 21% non-nano zinc oxide, yet feels more like a rich lotion than a typical sunscreen. It offers broad-spectrum SPF 32 protection against UVA and UVB rays, while nourishing ingredients like argan oil, sunflower oil, and shea butter keep skin hydrated. Rice starch helps soothe the skin and adds a dewy finish—without the greasiness. Plus, it’s packed with blue phytoplankton (spirulina maxima) and microalgae extracts, which help shield the skin from free radicals and pollution—an especially helpful bonus if you live in a big city. It’s also fragrance-free, which is a huge win. Daily SPF layers beautifully under makeup, making it an excellent option for most skin types, especially normal to dry or combination skin. However, if you have acne-prone skin or a darker skin tone, you might want to patch test first. The zinc oxide content can feel a bit heavy for some, and there’s a chance of a slight white cast—though I haven’t noticed one on my own skin.
Overall, Cocokind’s Daily SPF is a standout option for a lightweight, moisturizing mineral sunscreen that works well for everyday use. I can confidently say this is a product I’ll keep reaching for, for many years to come.
