Ebru Kabacık
For how long? 2 months.
I’ve lost count of how many times I’ve impulsively chopped my hair to feel better. But the thrill of short hair never seems to last. So before long, I find myself on a mission to grow it out again. That usually means natural oils and a few rosemary water spritzes at the roots. But this time, I wanted a shampoo that could actually support the process. That’s when I finally gave Matsu’s Extension Shampoo a go. It had been on my radar for a while.
Growing your hair out takes patience, and I’ve had my fair share of setbacks. I’ve used horsetail extract shampoos before; they promised length but left my hair dry and hard to manage. Definitely not worth it. So yes, I was skeptical. But from the first wash, I realized I didn’t need to be. Matsu’s formula is balanced out beautifully with coconut oil, panthenol, glycerin, aloe vera, and argan oil. It hydrates, adds shine, and doesn’t leave my hair feeling stripped. A rare find.
One of my favorite things about this shampoo: it clears away excess sebum without irritating the scalp, leaving it fresh but not stripped. The reishi mushroom extract helps soothe dryness, which is a big win for anyone with fine, dry hair like mine.
If your hair texture is similar, here’s what’s worked for me. I like to prep my hair with natural oils before washing and let it sit for a few hours if I have the time. Then I lather a small amount of shampoo in my hands and focus only on my scalp. After rinsing, I follow up with a hydrating mask and style as usual. A few drops of hair oil on the ends is a non-negotiable step for me.
Matsu Extension Shampoo has definitely earned a spot in my rotation. It supports growth, keeps my scalp feeling fresh, and smells just like the Big Babol bubblegum I loved as a kid. A nostalgic bonus I didn’t know I needed.
